Dakai is an indie electronic rock duo based in Brooklyn, New York. They begin with a distinctive trip-hop foundation and blends in alt rock, blues and progressive metal accents. Influenced by the Trip-Hop sounds of Massive Attack, Morcheeba, and Halou, the musicality of Radiohead and the harder edges of Alice in Chains and Tool, the result is cool but charged. The music features strong melodies, down tempo beats and metaphorical lyrics centering on universal themes that challenge the status quo. Dakai is always in motion, experimenting with different styles so that the sound is dynamic and ever evolving.

AK 1200 was proud...

Got props from AK1200 himself about the sound design I implemented in Fusion Night Club for his big night there. Nothing to it. Just used the bass bins as I would microphones and did some polar pattern shaping to give a maximum distance across the dance floor as well as a little shotgun blast to the VIP stage. Result? I dared everyone to speak to me conversation level in front of the speakers and bins. Not a naysayer in the house.
